• পশ্চিমবঙ্গ আবাসন পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়ন সংস্থাবা হিডকো হল একটি সরকারি সংস্থা যেটি পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্যের আবাসন, প্রকল্প, উদ্যান, জাদুঘর এবং সাবওয়ে ও উড়ালপুল সহ বিভিন্ন নির্মাণকার্যের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত।
• এটির প্রধান কার্যালয়কলকাতা শহরের নিউ টাউন অঞ্চলে।

Functions of HIDCO:

• Urban Planning & Development-Manages residential, commercial, and industrial infrastructure in New Town.

• Smart City Projects- Implements IT-driven solutions like smart lighting, waste management, and surveillance systems.
• Land Development & Allocation- Allocates plots for housing, business hubs, and institutions.
• Eco-Friendly Initiatives- Promotes green energy, cycling tracks, parks, and water bodies.
• Tourism & Public Amenities- Develops landmarks like Eco Park, Biswa Bangla Gate, and Convention Centers.

HIDCO works closely with NKDA (New Town Kolkata Development Authority) to ensure planned urban growth, making New Town one of India’s most advanced smart cities.
